Hohoho… guess what is in our mind, especially those who live in tropical area, if the day is hot and dry? Sweet and cold water, of course. Aha, several days ago I decide to treat my friend a glass which full of sugarcane juice. Hmmm… cool, sweet and fresh but sorry I am too thirsty to photograph to the juice.
One of the dominant tree (I mean fruiting plant) for commodity in Riau is coconut. Coconut tree usually grows in the eastern site of Sumatra beach, east Riau. But generally it can grow everywhere in Riau like in Caribbean, the tropical land. You know, that young coconut tree is mine; I plant two trees in front of my narrow home garden. Riau coconut tree? I do not know the different with the other coconut trees around the world.
May be like your city, Pekanbaru – Riau has many signs in every city bridge. In Pekanbaru, there more than four roads entrance to the downtown city. The photo is taken on south of the city near Sultan Syarif Kasim II International Airport, Riau.
One of the uniqueness’s of Riau is its traditional, the architecture. Actually Riau has five kinds of traditional houses. The popular one is ‘’Rumah Limas’’. Rumah Limas above is taken in Kampar regent near national road HR Soebrantas. Now day, Rumah Limas is rare found in Riau.
Dry season has come to Riau, regular phenomena has come too, The Haze. Hmmm... When dry season comes, which the land can be burned easily, Riau will get haze. Several days ago on the Pekanbaru bridge trough Kampar regent, the fog was very thick. But, when I arrived in the middle of the national road of Kampar, the fog disappeared.
If I want, I could drive this car, the great Pekanbaru Mayor Herman Abdullah. I was surprise that the mayor's driver is very kind and friendly. At that time, I have someone to take the photograph (not as usual). Yeah, at least I got me photographed beside the car of Pekanbaru mayor that accompany him every time he goes at official work.
The Issue of Green House effect is nowadays issue in Riau. Riau which loose its number of green forest has become an important area of Green Movement’s campaign. One of the largest green movement (organization or foundation) is Riau Pos Save the Earth. Riau Pos Save the Earth is the most active Riau Green Movement so far. Their main program is planting trees. Recent and phenomenal program of Riau Pos Save the Earth is CGaF which they lead community to plant fruitful trees in area of Pekanbaru city, Riau.
Tips which is given by some friends when you want to take photographs in Jembatan Siak is that: Do not park your motorcycle of car on the bridge, so? Take a walk or stop by the middle of the bridge silently, hehehehe... you know Jembatan Siak in Siak Sri Indrapura is guarded by some officers in the city side of the bridge. If they see you park your car or motorcycle there, they will catch you.
Cat, a kind of pets that love by many people in Indonesia but many of them also do not like cats at all. Many reasons why ''they'' hate cats, because of their virus, their hair or their habits. Habits? yes, I found my crazy friend will bother cats while they sleeps. Hmmm... what do you think, how cute are they while sleeping! so I said my friend is crazy :D
